Report on Spring 2024 program
NUSTEP 2024 Spring was held face-to-face on a smaller scale after several years of not holding the program due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of three students participated, each of them are from Korean, Chinese, and British universities.
The participants took Japanese language classes at Nagoya University to improve their Japanese language skills. In their final class, they made presentation in Japanese about their connection with Nagoya University and Japan. It includes their life in Japan and Nagoya, the reason why they came to study Japanese, and messages to international students who are thinking about studying at Nagoya University in the future. After the presentations, the faculty stuff in the audience asked questions about the presentations, and they were able to respond and express their thoughts clearly in Japanese.
In addition to Japanese language study, the participants also had the opportunity to experience traditional Japanese culture through Rakugo (comic monologue) performance. Although the Japanese was spoken at a fairly fast pace, the participants laughed a lot and enjoyed Rakugo.
Despite the short period of time, the program not only improved their Japanese language skills, but also allowed them to grow as students.
